About Us
The North Central Texas Chapter of the National Hook Up of Black Women, Inc was founded in 2007. Our founder Betty Veasy originally from Illinois relocated to Texas and with a group of other members made history in the state of Texas by forming the first National Hook Up of Black Women Chapter in Texas. The purpose of the North Central Texas Chapter was to embrace the national initiatives on a local level with a sense of sisterhood and commitment.
Effective leadership of the organization requires a talented management team with vision and the ability to resource cohesively the needs and concerns expressed by the local chapter members, while equally representing the promotion of the organization at large. The elected and appointed leaders undergird this role. 2011 Officers & Executive Committee Founder/President: Betty Veasy 1st Vice President/Program Chair: Valerie Wordlaw 2nd Vice President/Membership Chair: Lisa Jones Secretary: Lucrezia Rochon Treasurer: Eleanor Edmunds Chaplain: Betty Neal Historian: Crist Coleman Scholarship Chair Hospitality Chair
